Our History

Our journey from Brown Pestell through Brown Group and into Brown Europe Ltd was driven by the relentless enthusiasm and energy of the late John Brown who founded what would now be called a ‘start-up, disrupter’ company in 1972.  He went on to change much of the landscape of the power transmission industry by challenging the larger incumbents of the time in Europe and the UK and grew into the present incarnation that now exports to over 100 countries worldwide. The company is still family owned and continues to go from strength to strength, from a desire to ensure that our customers receive the best service and products possible.  The benefits of a small board allow us to be nimble in our thinking and to respond to market needs with speed and innovation.  The corporate structure has also ensured that none of the knowledge gained over five decades’ worth of sales and servicing legacy products has been lost for those customers that need a solution.
